All dressed Up With NoWhere to Go: A Fashionista’s Nightmare

So, here we are in this strange and unfamiliar place we call “Quarantine”. There is so much fear and uncertainty because we have no real way of knowing how long we’ll be here. So what do we do?
As a creative, I am especially sensitive to the environment I am in-especially as it pertains to the way I express myself through fashion. When we think of getting dressed, we consider a lot of different things like: our mood, the weather, the occasion, level of comfort, what our particular role will be when we reach our destination and what image we want the world to see of us that day.
So what do we as fashionistas do when we have nowhere to go? Now, I know a lot of people say “ I don’t dress for other people, I dress for myself” and I believe that they believe this is true, but what I have discovered is that we do, in fact, dress for other people in addition to ourselves! BUT that’s ok! As a fashion lover, a part of loving fashion is sharing my love for it with others. As with any artist, there is a joy in sharing your art with others. Imagine the disappointment of playing a beautiful song that no one will ever hear or painting a picturing no one will ever see. While most people do have things they create that are personal and kept hidden, most art is enjoyed when it is shared.
So here are some ways you can keep busy as a fashionista during Quarantine!
Engage in social media challenges. I have been having a blast working with other fashion lovers and creating fashion challenges. I particularly loved the “Don’t Rush” challenge.
