Tips for Trends!

With the influx of social media usage, we have been bombarded with so much fashion inspiration that it can be a little overwhelming. So many trends, so little time.

So here are a few questions to ask yourself along with tips to incorporte trends into your wardrobe without interrupting your individuality and personal style.

1. Do you like it? Just because its trending, doesn't mean you have to like it. If you don't love it, don't buy it!

2. Is it comfortable? Y'all know how I feel about being comfortable...enough said! I do NOT compromise comfort...ever! Its very important to me. So if you feel uncomfortable wearing it, skip it! You'll be self-conscious the whole time you have it on.

3. How much does it cost? I never spend too much on trendy items because they will be here today and gone tomorrow. I try to shop at inexpensive stores for trendy items. There's no point in spending a lot when you're never going to wear it again after it goes out of style.

4. Does it fit you well? You know your body type. If you look good in it and it fits you well, go for it! All trends are not for everybody. I have passed on quite a few trends because they looked horrible on me. It is terrible seeing people pulling and tugging on clothes because they're too short or too tight. You should feel good in what you wear!

Tips

1. Limit yourself to 3 interchangeable trendy pieces. Whether its a jacket, a shirt, pants, a dress, or a skirt, just get three! Don't wear them at the same time. That is overkill! Example, Gingham is hot right now but I have one gingham dress and two blouses that I can wear several different ways: with a sweater, with a t-shirt underneath or by itself...(Photos below)

2. Mix trends with classics. I think this is my best piece of advice. Challenge yourself by mixing some looks with other pieces in your closet. Classics for your particular style are relative. So whatever your closet staples are, try incorporating trends in with them. You can still be fresh and current but still have that "You" factor!

3. Gain inspiration from others but add your own twist. It will give a good place to start if you're unsure of how to get a look together!

I hope these tips helped!
