Save or Splurge?

I realize everyone isn’t quite as frugal as I am. I really like shopping at thrift stores because it is a hobby and I like the vintage styles that I can’t find in the mall. I assume that not every person wants to wear vintage clothing so this post is for you!
SPLURGE
Shoes- There is nothing worse than a cheap shoe. They break, fall apart and are extremely uncomfortable. If it is within your means, buy quality shoes. And to be honest, shoes are usually the one item I buy new. (Shhhhh)
Handbags- Everyone needs a good handbag. I think buying a bag in a nude or black color is your best bet. I also think a red bag is a good investment because it pairs well with all neutral colors but gives your look some depth. (refer to my closet essentials post).
Jeans- You know, the perfect pair. The one that fit you juuust right. Just tight enough, just right enough. Finding jeans that flatter your body shape is a great way to make you look put together. They’re the launching pad of many great outfits.
Coats- Get a power coat in a great color and you’re changing lives. This is the appetizer to your outfit so make it good!
Save
Jewelry- I loove accessories! If I spent $20 on every piece of jewelry I owned…I don’t think I’d love them as much. I like to change up my look so I don’t lock into accessories. They’re the zest of the outfit so spending less gives more options.
Sunglasses- I love the look of high-end sunglasses but these days, there are so many dupes. I would NEVER pay hundreds of dollars for sunglasses. 1) because I’m going to lose them. 2) One of my friends or sister is going to take them lol!
Eyeglasses- Funky glasses are my thing. But I don’t pay more than $30 for them. It’s unnecessary. Look online, there are lots of websites with affordable, cute glasses.
T-shirts- I love a good white or black shirt. I buy them in the kid’s section at Wal-mart (full disclosure lol) they’re like $1.50. Once it gets worn a few times, it gets weird. So just buy them 2-3 at a time.
Now, there are exceptions to the rules and I mix and match but you get the general idea.
I love to look nice but you don’t have to spend tons of money on things. One day, I am hoping to be able to get whatever I want and not worry (too much ) about the price tag. Until then, I’m going to live cutely and comfortably within my means.
