Let’s Talk: Body Goals

As people, there are so many things we contend with in terms of body image. There is: how we see ourselves, how we THINK other people see us, what other people actually think, what we see on other people and what we think of other people…and then there’s what actually exists.
In a day where instagram and edits are the norm, it can be hard to love your body. You know, the unedited version. The one with the stretch marks, the little butt, big thighs, small legs, big head… however you are made. There are millions of combinations…
The reality is, the fascination with our bodies really only matters as it relates to what we think others see when they look at us. Body parts serve no purpose that would make us any less of a person just because it is not aligned with societal beauty standards. Yes, some bodies are thought to be more attractive than others but even that attraction is relative to the viewer’s preference. So, the best way to feel confident in your body is to first LOVE IT because it’s yours. You were made in God’s image, fearfully and wonderfully!… But the very next thing that can help you love your body is to dress in a way that flatters your body and shape so that you feel comfortable!
I have always been on the slim side. Which makes people assume I can wear whatever I want. Not True!!! I find so many things I like but because they have a lot of material and not such a flattering fit I don’t wear it. Some things make me look like a kid wearing their mother’s clothes haha!
Our bodies are made to carry around who we are on the inside. What we are made of in our hearts. Carry the beauty in your heart first and it will exude beyond any bangin’ body you could ever imagine. Stay tuned next week I’ll have some tips on how to dress for your body style!
